A Night She Won’t Forget…

I was exhausted… I had stayed up after work Monday morning when I got off at 6AM for two reasons…
1 - Get a haircut :)
2 - Show this dude the sub & amp set up I’m selling

Well got those done and the arrangement was for me to drop Erin off at work then pick her up. Not a problem. Popped four No-Doz and headed out on my journey for my two errands to get done. Also, being that I stay bitching on needing more work clothes I made it a priority to stop and get some.

Well got my haircut… super hot now. So my girl says. She also said she liked it a lot better than my last cut :) Scored some points there. Well on my chore running I decided I’d come up with something real special for my baby today. What though…?

Thoughts crossed my mind on what to do that would just be special and totally unforgettable!
I wanted to bring some joy into her for the night.
A night so different and touching that it couldn’t be duplicated…

I thought and it didn’t take too long to conjure up my most absurd plan!
Fellas… if you want to do this simple outing I do encourage you; she adored it!

  1. Dozen Roses - CHECK
  2. Candle - CHECK
  3. Love Card - CHECK
  4. Blind Fold - CHECK (Optional, but gives mystery and wonder!)
  5. Heart Shaped Pizza - CHECK (courteous of Papa Johns)

Now this may all sound too tacky or just totally whacked, but I assure you that if you have a good hearted girl who loves small things to appreciate for memory then this is a winner.

I simply called ahead of time to the Papa Johns and told them what my plans were… see I’m always hating her work hours because she works mid-day until late 11PM usually! No respectable restaurants are open then. So I was able to coax Papa Johns’s manager to allow me, being that their indoor dining area was closed at 10PM, to set up a special dinner! Which the dozen roses, candle and the love card on the table as a special something. Seems horrifying I assure you being that this is all taken place in a Papa Johns, but fellas one of her favorite foods is the pepperoni pizza; I couldn’t go wrong.

After stopping in Papa Johns and setting up my sweet touch I headed over to her job praying she wasn’t out yet and waiting on me; it might’ve ruined the moment. She wasn’t… YAY! So I nervously waited for her outside… pacing like a race horse. Was something new for me too, you know. I had the blindfold in my hands ready to capture her… hold her in complete suspicion on what the hell was I up to. She freaked when she learned it was for her to wear on our way to the “surprise”. Gladly though she played right along. As I started driving I asked normal questions on how her day went and if she was excited about what her surprise might be. She made a comment on how she knew which way we were heading. So I was happy to fix that. I turned into the closed mall parking lot and did a bunch of circles and pretty erratic driving. She was lost now. Curiosity was definitely killing the kitty…

I pulled up to Papa Johns. My baby was totally lost on what it might be or where we were. I was smiling. I told her to stay in the car; then I walked over to her door and reached my hand out to help her out. She was almost scared not knowing what to expect. I walked her inside and she was begging to take the blindfold off. I then walked her over to the table that was arranged with my little gifts and told her to take it off. She gasped. Breathless. Then realized we were in a public area and then a slight embarrassment came over her. She was soon over that with the love I poured onto her. This was special. This was sweet. She loved it. She sat down and read the card. Tears almost swelled in her eyes with joy. She was just overtaken by the whole gesture. Now for the real surprise… ****drum roll please***

The PIZZA! Though you might wonder what the hell could be so special about the pizza??? Haha! Let me tell you; fortunately for me the manager and guy working at Papa Johns that night were real kick ass and nice. The pizza that I kept urging Erin to open… because I didn’t see it yet either was specially made in the shape of a heart! The guy at Papa Johns asked if I wanted it in a heart when I first went there to set my stuff up! I replied please! So I was anxious to see it too. Erin couldn’t believe her eyes. This was all for her. my special baby.

That there concludes my special night for her… the rest of the night is for another story someday :)
