Unexpected Plan = Kick Ass Night
After hearing a vibe online about Wal-Mart setting up Xbox 360 kiosks I was in the zone. After some research I located a Wal-Mart within in a reasonable amount of travel time. So that was it I had to experience this console!
When my sweetheart got off work she seemed bummed that her parents and sister went out without her to the movies and dinner. So I said fine… me and you go out to a dinner and a movie! Just me and my sweetheart, a night on the town! So as I waited for her I got in a couple rounds of Halo 2, I was excited. A night out with my precious and some good time spent.
So we headed east on S.R. 40 out of Ocala and into Ormond Beach… about a 45 minute to an hour drive. It seemed so peaceful as we cruised with our random chit-chat. The rain dazzled and bestowed upon us as it bounced across the windshield and on-top of the roof of the car as we rode along. Hypnotic and relaxing was the theme.
We finally turned and headed toward Chili’s for a good dinner; we parked and walked in. being a Sunday night there wasn’t much of a crowd. After waiting about 10 minutes for a hostess to show to sit us we finally got our table. As the waitress made her round with asking for what to drink we decided on a Electric Lemonade for me and DeSorano with Cranberry juice for my baby. Little did I know they had 2 for 1, hence we got to our drink on! It was nice, getting all toasty and warm inside. Watching my sweetheart drink was extremely amusing as well! She didn’t get drunk, but had a couple drinks and it really helped her unwind, something she must’ve needed from the stresses of work and all.
After leaving Chili’s we went right across the street to the movie theater to see the movie we seen previews for and said, “Yep! Gotta see that.” It was Doom silly! At first I thought it was going to be gimmicky, but overall I was happy with the movie. It kept intact with the game’s main story plot, a research facility on Mars gets ruined with demons and monsters. It was a new movie; but overall worth a view.
Now… we walk out of the movie theater into the chilly night. It was time to see if the Wal-Mart was really holding in their possession a Xbox 360 kiosk for gaming bliss…? Was I walking into disappointment? Was it even there? One thing I knew for certain was I had to piss so bad my damn molars were floating… so first nature called and we walked to the bathrooms. Sure enough they were getting cleaned and the men’s restroom was blocked off. My sweetheart went in hers and came out… then she wanted her purse so we walked back out to the car to get it. Once back in the store we walked to the back of the store for the rear restrooms, ahh relief.
Then, it was time. We headed for the Electronics department. I was all overwhelmed with the idea of getting to play a Xbox 360! I was super excited now… it was the moment. As we turned into Electronics I looked down the first aisle to see the glistening white controller, Xbox 360 advertising around the monitor and other adornments! I was in shock, speechless. With it being as late as it was luckily there were no little kids to deal with. grasped the controller so gently in my hands to feel its’ new form. It fitted genuinely, the screen glowed with the most intense boot logo and presentation I’ve witnessed. There it was the dashboard… of the Xbox 360 … under my control! This was amazing. Once I diddle in the menus and read what was there I had come for one and only thing… the game demos. At the consumers disposal were game demos of Kameo, Call of Duty 2 and King King. I began with Kameo to show it off to my sweetheart, a game I believe she’d enjoy more than me and get a kick out of. It was actually interesting to me as well… different but new! The I switched over to King King, I only played as the human, Jack, though that is what amazed me about the game! It seemed like a movie, not a game with a health meter and other information in a typical H.U.D. on screen. The action was highly intense and made me clutch the controller as if I was there. The graphics in this game were stunning. The scenery and ambient sounds were all signs of a game to really enjoy! After a few minutes with Kong and jumped into CoD2. I really never appreciated this game series, but from the vast detail, heart felt design and overall gripping look, this game was as epic as it gets! If you have your surround sound too loud when you play this you’ll probably wanna flip the couch/bed over for cover! INCOMING! Okay I’m one joking… it was really detailed and fun t play. Like running into a building and lighting the enemies ass up with an automatic was so satisfying that it can only be rewarded by seeing it for yourself. Their bodies convult and shake along with their screams of agony hit the sound as you lay hot lead into them. Ohh… the bloody realism was their as well! I do know I would’ve loved to have seen PD0 as a demo, but why let out all the goodness at once right?
In conclusion to last night… it rocked; plain and simple! I do believe Microsoft has definitely took gamers into their heavens with this console. It won’t be for all but I will bet it will appeal to the masses a lot more than the competition. I haven’t played the other two up coming next-gen systems but from what I can tell on Xbox 360… it will be hard to show up.
