Yes it was that once a year spectacular display of the booms, bangs, and oh-so-pretty colors of fireworks. That symbol that portrays our freedom; the glorious display of a darkened night sky filled with vibrant bright colors to awe the young and old. Our initial mission was going to land us in Orlando for their show, but we opted to stay local due to some unforeseeable complications. We slept in, from a long night of Scrabble, Rummy, monkey noise making, and heart filled laughing; awoke around mid-day to head over to my sweetheart’s house to chill as we waited for the night to fall. The nearest reputable display for Ocala was in Dunnellon and it was a descent drive, about 30 to 40 minutes.
As we neared the stadium destination the fireworks were in full motivation to light up that dreary dark sky with smoke, flashes, and booms to shake even the wigs off of old men. As we got closer the parked cars on the side of the roads became more and more clustered; choosing to follow suite we too parked in a spot that allowed for a great view to finish off the show. As I sat in the car with Erin snuggled up to my side, my heart thumped with the love for her that I’ve always desired; a completed and appreciated feeling. These moments of simplistic joys make the biggest impact of happiness to me. I turned my head to gaze into her eyes; watching the reflection of the flashes, from the fireworks, in her baby blues was stunningly captivating me. I was drawn in to her presence of sweetness like a butterfly to the sweet nectars of a flower. This woman before me has my heart, soul, and entire life in her hands.
I love you Erin, I do.
