MyTunes RSS

I think I’ve found the most simplistic method for sharing my massive mp3 library online and locally! Not only is it simple to set-up and get running, but it is very clean and sleek. I’ve created a “guest” user to browse my 80+ gigs of music all tagged, organized, and filed anally. Enjoy…

If I see too much bandwidth being used it will be throttled!

Also check out MyTunesRSS, which is waht could make this amazing feat possible!

Faxing with Skype

I just know for a fact I can’t be puzzled by this lack of feature integration! Skype is becoming very competitive and known for a good service world-wide: with their new promotion of a full year of Skye-Out service fora mere $14.95 was too irresistible to pass up. Now, I’m digging and trying to see if it’s possible to achieve faxes with my Skype-In services… I search on Skype’s knowledge-base for “fax” and nothing returns. I can’t see why Skype can’t forward the phone call to OS X fax features. Well, wishful thinking.

Hopefully when Skype-In is no longer BETA it can be possible.

Mac Games, Halo 3 and a HIV Test

Yesterday marked a very interesting day for myself. I started off by only getting roughly 30 minutes of sleep due to my obsessive need for gaming and studying. I’ve been participating in two very unique, I think, Apple Mac communities that are just fun and overall enjoyable. Mac Heist & MacAppaDay, are the computer candies that I indulge with at that moment; both are giving away free software! Although, Mac Heist is doing it with an ingenious twist of puzzles and games online that you decipher.

Halo 3, is there anything else that needs to be said? This game is going to literally going to sweep the gaming community! Halo 2 was mind blowing successful; Halo 3 will only build on that power even farther. I’m not quite sue how well the story was/is for the first two Halo’s, but I did enjoy Halo 2’s untouchable online gaming! I can only imagine how far or what Bungie is cooking up for their final game in the trilogy. Well, I’m sure for anyone that is aware and pretty up 2 date around the gaming community knows Bungie released a 60 second CG trailer and opened up registration for Halo 3 beta! The registration is accessed over at Halo 3.com; as for the trailer can be downloaded via Xbox website or through the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Finally, I took the chance to get that dreaded test that millions of people feel they are so invincible to… HIV/AIDS. I don’t have any inclinations of being positive, just really a reassurance purpose. I recently did a research paper on AIDS and focused on prevention tactics and methods. I had learned a lot of interesting information and took the test myself to see where I stand. My father fell victim to the AIDS epidemic back in 1996 when I was 16; he chose to do drugs so it lead him down his early death bed. So sometime around the 18th I should be able to get my results… it’s nerve racking “not knowing” for certain, but this is the only to know.

1Passwd

I’ve scoped this utility out for Mac OS X for quite some time now. I didn’t question the price, and now that I have a copy, I believe it is worth ever dime that is humbly asked. Apple’s Keychain is so not put to its full potential of a secure area to store information.

Batter-Up…
1Passwd steps up to the plate to deliver an astonishing home-run; this utility integrates into your browsers with a plethora of features that Steve Jobs should have already covered:

  • Manage hundreds of passwords with one master key.
  • Define multiple identities to be used by the form filler.
  • OS X Keychain integration provides maximum security.
  • Integrated with Safari, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, Firefox, Camino, and Flock.
  • Stop keyloggers from recording your passwords and credit cards.
  • Intelligent settings make you secure by default.
  • Easily import from Safari, Firefox, Web Confidential, and RoboForm.

This application is packed with great ease of use features that really make handling all information easy and unforgettable.
I have ti really give a huge thanks to Mac Heist for giving me a special edition of this app!

Potion Factory Blog - Introducing Tangerine

After reading a small excerpt from TUAW, in regards to this application, I was hooked! I’m a huge music fan and treasure my collection. Any utility that offers new ways to interact with my vast library is more than welcomed from me. This program is still in BETA phase so expect hiccups; although, I’ve been running it quite smoothly so far.

Life Update on Me

Well guess I need to play catch up with myself…
I’ve been intrigued by all sorts of new gadgets, software, and 360 games so let me first run out my list of Toys I Want!

It’s all just too much really; specially on my budget. Not to mention the temptation MacZOT brings!! Yea I’m a sucker I know… tell me, go on. Bet you won’t tell me to my face though now will you?

What else? Ummm… me and Erin are still together, and loving ever so more to each other. This will be the woman I marry. We both are struggling right now to deal with school and everyday living; though, we know it is all for the better of our futures. Sacrifice now to prosper later. Ahhh! My mom just got remarried, and she has really started getting back in the groove of life. Though I’m pretty sure me moving back out on my own helped her gain some peace of mind as well. I’m just too much too handle I believe. So far from what I’ve heard my mom is very happy and well taken care of with this new relationship; I just really hope that she is happy because she suffered for far too long. I love you mom!

Yes, I do reckon that wraps up a lot of things not covered in my life recently. School is good; I scored a 100% on my last Technology quiz. English is very demanding when done proper, though it is a great learning experience for me. Math is fun… weird and very confusing, but fun. It just amazes me how numbers can be manipulated in so many ways! Insane. I’ll let everyone know my last math test score tomorrow when I get it… cross your fingers.

Disco Fever

Having friendships with people in desired positions does have serious benefits! For instance, Austin the developer of Appzapper and the very popular un-released new application he has been working on Disco has gave me exclusive information in regards to Disco. Unfortunately I’ve been asked respectfully to not say anything or even show this kick ass screen shot I was privileged to see. This app is going to blow folks away… literally!

The features he spoke of seemed almost like something you’d expect to see in a Sci-Fi flick in the year 3010 or something! I do totally believe this brings applications to a whole new level!

Can you feel it? I can… it’s the feeling of anticipation and anxiety of the newest best thing to come to Mac! Hang on tight the Disco beta will be here soon!

Software Secrecy - Disco

Ya know it is like being a little kid awaiting for something new to reveal in the open… just knowing it’s coming, yet not precisely knowing what to expect! Well that is the case now folks: Disco - MacZOT is burning up the floor with some hot marketing moves to get your drooling mechanisms working anew. This developer has shown some outstanding work previously with AppZapper; so one can only imagine where this new project might take us… I for one am on board and gun-ho to see what it is!

Well… regardless if you use it or not could you really go wrong with a sexy offer for software for only a mere $4.95!!!! Not to mention it’s from a extremely reputable developer that has proved quality assurance in the past.

Tick… Tock… the clock counts down to what this Disco is and we will find out if it can dance.
(Apple needs to tkae notes from this bright mind, or better yet sign him u for the Apple team!)

Apple - Mac OS X - Leopard Sneak Peek

It’s coming and ohh is it coming every so swiftly in for the kill! I’m just immensely concerned on how this bad boy might or even can run on my Dual G4 with 1.5Gig RAM… will it be worth it? Of course it’s the most humblest of dreaming for a nice smooth working newest OS, but reality sets in with the intro of this new beast, Mac Pro.

Oral Presentation and Microsoft’s Powerpoint

Like whoa… on another level.
Yea, that about sums up my entire experience so far with constructing and planning out this oral presentation for my sweetheart. I always had a slight and curious interest in creating a Powerpoint presentation, but was never actually given the project to do so. Well kiddies… the time is now! So brace for some serious learning and hiccups along the way. I initially was all gun-hoed because I was using the elegantly styled Apple Keynote; no such luck though, for some crud reason even though it would export to .pot format darn MS Powerpoint just wouldn’t keep all the proper formatting, simple layout structure, sleek Apple transitions, or nothing! It was aggravating and very distressing. So lo and behold, I opened up the monster itself, Powerpoint. Though it seems to have all the options it just seems too much dammit. It’s Microssoft’s true to form cluttered messes and over complex interfaces. It’s driving me nuts really. I sincerely can see why Microsoft has MCSE and all other types of proper certification for their applications and system operating systems… a Master’s degree, nothing short of, to conquer the zen of Microsoft.

I will succeed and I will overcome this entire project with a smile.

Genius Transformation Initiated

I recently became a member at a truly great torrent tracker for, get this, all educational and informational materials. Talk about nice nice nice! Let’s just conservatively say in the past three humble days I’ve pushed out 7.33GBs and sucked in: 7.05GBs, and all in information goodness. Now to just to find the discipline and time to actually use it.

First I indulge myself into The Einstein Factor; I’m hooked, instantly! This knowledge is beyond any fascination I’ve ever experienced! I sincerely recommend this collection to anyone that is in search of enlightenment and release. The first 2 tracks are slow and not too interesting, but on the 3rd I was blown away with amazing facts and thoughts. I can not wait to devote more time into getting involved with this Audio-book!

I have so much more too, I will, hopefully, get back with some of the other treasures that are a must get! If your nice I might even share the site for some people to join before they close up and resort to invitations only.

HoudahSpot - BlogZOT

Simple thoughts on HoudahSpot from MacZOT.com:

At first glance this application seems as if it could be extremely powerful over Spotlight’s basic usage; which a lot of power users would be very happy with to have. Now my first drawback is the interface it seems clunky and OS9 styled. Though it it’s clean it need to be more streamlined and organized. Also I’d definitely appreciate am option to replace Spotlight’s system icon so that there is not two instances in the menu bar; assumably one will not be using both interfaces…

Other than those two facets I believe this could make a permanent home in my arsenal of tools, for a better method of searching my personal files. Keep up the great start and shine with a new interface and look!

NOTE: If you’re seeing this on June 16, 2006 head over to MacZOT, you might be able to get a Free copy of HoudahSpot!

Blog Tagging System Implemented

I recently been adding tags to posts and the system has been re-worked over plenty of times now. First I was doing a manually added tag syntax with a code snippet, but quickly began to get irritated and severely worn out of that method. I just knew there was a simpler process or method of taking care of it.

My search ended with Ultimate Tag Warrior for Wordpress, very simple to install, then after a couple minor tweaks I do believe I’m happy with my tag system. The tag system is only using Technorati now, but in the future if the other blog search engines need to be added I will gladly adapt and update.

I however have other unrelated tweaks in mind for my Wordpress in the very near future…

Flock You!

Like YEAH BABY! See when there is variety in software I get super silly excited… well let me explain; when there is 20 different browsers out there all competing to offer the best of the best feature set it gets me all warm and fuzzy inside. Why? Because they strive for excellence and placement.

My excitement is steaming through on this new browser dubbed: Flock that seems to have some very serious potential that interests me immensely! Currently I’ve had to switch back and forth between Firefox and Safari for use and blogging. It sucks! Wordpress’s Admin back-end doesn’t function properly for who knows why the hell not, and Firefox, though topped with stability secured tightness. just doesn’t feel usable for anything more than blogging.

Sooooooo…. will this Flock be an ends all to browsers? They sure seem to have some very bright ideas and features in the spotlight! I do hope it can be my 1 and only :)

New Wordpress Plugins

Ran across a few plugins that seem very useful to serious and even casual bloggers that use Wordpress! One is an Admin Panel theme but still groovy, the other two are pretty useful; one is a ‘toolbar’ addition to the regular layout of the site. if you are logged in as Admin, that gives access to the familiar links such as Dashboard, Write, Manage, Links, Presentation, ad etc… the second plugin, which I’m toying with now, and mostly excited about is an Edit in Place!! I’m still in the process of configuring and setting up so not sure how it exactly works.

Though by it’s description it would be ideal for any blogger using Wordpress!

EditnPlace - Headzoo’s EditnPlace
SpotMilk - Ceprix’s Spot Milk
Easy Admin Access - 100yen’s Easy Admin Access

***UPDATED***
EditnPlace is now properly running and working just fine from what I can tell. Clean instructions got my theme up to requirements quickly and I made a couple of simple adjustments for my own taste; overall it was well worth the effort for what this plugin offers for ease of editing posts.

New Cocktail 3.7.2??

Update claims it addresses Apple OS X 10.4.7 compatibility issues. No official word on 10.4.7 released yet? Well it’s not in Apple’s Software Update yet… think it’ll hit release later today?

Cocktail 3.7.2 - MacUpdate

***UPDATED***
Might want to be careful with this update! I installed it and it oddly asked for my serial to re-register the program; now this wouldn’t be an issue being that I have a paid serial number, the kicker is it tells me my serial number is invalid!

I emailed the developer in hopes of a fix real soon…

***UPDATED***
Developer quickly responded with what was the issue and simply corrected it. Seems to be that somehow an algorithm was released that allowed for several serial numbers to be cracked, needless to say one of them just happened to be mine.

Running Smoothly

Upgraded Wordpress to 2.0.3 and so far all seems fine as far as I’ve seen. Haven’t really read the documentation for security fixes and what not, but I figure there are good reasons to release an update…

Will keep updated if there are any issues I run into.
