Ok, after playing a little deeper with SmugMug I’ve come to the realization that SmugMug is Flickr‘s older and well matured bigger brother/sister. Essentially SmugMug is for the real pros and inadvertently lacks the newbie (my current status as a photographer) sections.
The bottom line is: the community functionality and sharing of other widely used apps make Flickr a current more appropriate choice; however, once professional status is reached, the SmugMug switch I will be making!
