Why All the Apple Hate?

Soundly I can comprehend that the nature of our human race amuse the fact of others’ failures; but for some unknown reasoning I am perplexed by all the sudden Apple hate and mockery amiss! Does the iPad really pose that huge of a threat? Maybe, if others weren’t as timid to just dive into the world of unknown, just maybe, then they too could appreciate Apple’s success, wonders, and innovations!

I won’t start the whole debacle of which tech company is better, but I can attest that for the Apple users we DO know the power of their machines and there is nothing comparable to Apple’s amazing prowess :)

Fun Times, Reverting to a backed-up HDD

Joy to me….
In short, I had cleared my main internal HDD to install Leopard. Unfortunately I feel my trusty ole’ mirror door dual G4 is just not up for Leopard-esque computing.

So, now I’m fighting with trying to get my backed up Tiger HDD on an external FireWire drive cloned back to my internal HDD! Fun times indeed.

***UPDATE*** removed drive from FireWire enclosure and set it up internally; copy to main drive went smooth besides one file which encountered a I/O error. In the end I’m satisfied with the final results!

Now, just need to replace my FireWire enclosure. Leaning towards NAS, any good recomendations?

Any Good Learning OS X Videos?

Well, I can see now I am going to be “on call” for my mom to learn her new iMac. She isn’t very computer savvy at all, but I would like to find her some tutorial OS X videos to assist her in learning how to use her computer.

My hunt begins….

The Choices of Life

I must admit I’ve been sinfully jealous of my babes brand new iMac; that computer can and does put mine to shame. I want one, but I’m wanting the 24″ model so I have the option of the Nvidia 512MB video beast card. Should i just get the 20″ with the 256MB video card with 4GB Ram?

It’s just soooo hard to make a choice… I ‘m sure no matter what I choose, I’ll be happy because it will be a new Apple!

The almighty apple...

Surprise for My Sweetheart

Well, life has been very well for me and my love! We’ve both keep grinding at work and she is now enrolled into Summer semester. So, something we have been contemplating was purchasing another computer for several reasons…

  • Schooling
  • Gaming (WoW)
  • Her own expensive toy… (justifiable?)

Shortly told, I walk into Bestbuy to possibly buy a printer to replace the crap one I decided on from Wal-Mart, lo and behold, glaring at me like a sweet angel was the brand new iMac 24″ all set-up and being so Macilicious! I nonchalantly inquire if they now sell Apple products. The associate, whom looked like a geek from the year 2020, almost blew me off in the sense that I wasn’t prepared to make such a purchase; little did he know. So, after asking a few questions I asked if they would match Apple’s education discount on a specific model. As that associate disappeared and I snagged another one, whom seemed much more friendlier, thank you Steve, he confirmed they would match the discount. So, I said, “let’s get it”!

All this took place roughly about 15 minutes before I was scheduled to work. I took the new iMac to my job and set it in the back-room. I the followed up by sending a text message to my sweetheart with a curious yet dominate message: “I picked up this amazing surprise for you babe, stop by my job if you are remotely interested…”

Of course being a woman and loving surprises she stopped by… Her facial expression was priceless when I asked her to close her eyes so I can go grab it… I feel moments like this are what build love, and no I don’t mean buying lavish gifts, but the moments of sheer emotion and impulse!

I love you Erin.

Dreaming of an iPhone

iPhone, just stating the phrase brings a gleeful aurora of “YEA” to my thoughts. I seriously am anticipating the day my contract with Helio is completed so that I can awesomely switch to AT&T’s network and purchase the glorious iPhone. Every time I am at work and a customer is fiddling with an iPhone I get all giddy inside and just want to shout with joy!

One day Apple… one day!

1Passwd

I’ve scoped this utility out for Mac OS X for quite some time now. I didn’t question the price, and now that I have a copy, I believe it is worth ever dime that is humbly asked. Apple’s Keychain is so not put to its full potential of a secure area to store information.

Batter-Up…
1Passwd steps up to the plate to deliver an astonishing home-run; this utility integrates into your browsers with a plethora of features that Steve Jobs should have already covered:

  • Manage hundreds of passwords with one master key.
  • Define multiple identities to be used by the form filler.
  • OS X Keychain integration provides maximum security.
  • Integrated with Safari, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, Firefox, Camino, and Flock.
  • Stop keyloggers from recording your passwords and credit cards.
  • Intelligent settings make you secure by default.
  • Easily import from Safari, Firefox, Web Confidential, and RoboForm.

This application is packed with great ease of use features that really make handling all information easy and unforgettable.
I have to really give a huge thanks to Mac Heist for giving me a special edition of this app!

Software Secrecy – Disco

Ya know it is like being a little kid awaiting for something new to reveal in the open… just knowing it’s coming, yet not precisely knowing what to expect! Well that is the case now folks: Disco – MacZOT is burning up the floor with some hot marketing moves to get your drooling mechanisms working anew. This developer has shown some outstanding work previously with AppZapper; so one can only imagine where this new project might take us… I for one am on board and gun-ho to see what it is!

Well… regardless if you use it or not could you really go wrong with a sexy offer for software for only a mere $4.95!!!! Not to mention it’s from a extremely reputable developer that has proved quality assurance in the past.

Tick… Tock… the clock counts down to what this Disco is and we will find out if it can dance.
(Apple needs to take notes from this bright mind, or better yet sign him up for the Apple team!)
